Kendra heard about ACT from a board member and quickly applied to join the team as an intern. After completing a summer 2021 Art Programs internship, Kendra has continued to volunteer, driving from Michigan State University each Monday for the ACTion Drummers classes! Kendra’s dedication and enthusiasm for ACT shines every time she comes to the studio, and the drummers are excited to greet her each time she walks through the door.

Why do you continue to volunteer?

“I absolutely loved my internship at ACT. I cherished all the valuable relationships and connections I had made…and I just could not stay away! Volunteering with ACT is something that I can look forward to every week, and I can always count on it to put a smile on my face!”

Tell us about your favorite moment.

“My favorite moment with ACT thus far was being able to attend the drumming performance at the Grand Rapids Art Museum. I loved being able to see both in-person and virtual ACTion Drummers come together to share what they had been learning in class.”
