Virtual ACTion Drummers

Join ACT's drum troupe and learn about rhythm, percussion, music exploration, and having fun! No previous drumming experience necessary. Students will need drumsticks (or objects in place of drumsticks) and a hard surface for drumming.

Songwriting Together - Teaching Artist: Bertram Sluys

Learn to collaboratively write basic lyrics and create melodies in this fun, supportive environment.

Songs & Rhythms from West African Village Life - Teaching Artist: Leah Ivory

Practice the basics of African drumming and sing to traditional songs and music. No previous experience necessary. Students will need a hard surface for drumming with their hands, or they may use drumsticks or similar objects if they have them.

Intro to Theatre - Teaching Artist: Darius Colquitt

What is theatre? This interactive class will focus on the Theatre Arts and the different ways they show up in everyday life.

Seated Yoga & Mindfulness - Teaching Artist: Laura Armenta

In this calming class, we'll practice yoga, stretching, and beginner's mindfulness.

Hip-Hop Hooray - Teaching Artist: Heather Truong

You'll pop and lock in this basic hip-hop class set to contagious beats and high-energy music.

Intro to Acting - Teaching Artist: Darius Colquitt

Learn everyday skills that actors use in a fun and highly-interactive setting.

Private Music Instruction (Virtual or In-Person)

An ACT teaching artist will meet you virtually or in-person to provide one-on-one music instruction. Instruction offered: guitar, piano, drum, ukulele. Session times and location scheduled to fit your needs. Students must have their own instrument.


$140 for 4 sessions

This class has something for everyone and combines dance of many forms, including lyrical, ballet, modern, and jazz.

Take digital photographs and create a mini portfolio of your work. Digital cameras provided. Mini portfolios will be given to students at a later date.

Take a unique exploration through the world of collage with pastels, tiles, and gemstones.

Pumpkin Art

You'll have a "gourd" time creating art-inspired pumpkins that you can take home.

Meet the Masters

Teaching Artist: Cynthia Hagedorn

Learn about three Dutch art masters, Vincent VanGogh, Willem deKooning, and Piet Mondrian, and create three art projects inspired by their works.

Textile Design

Use block printing on canvas & fabric scraps to create a modern quilt or wall hanging that would look great in a frame!

Notes about In-Person Programs:

To create as safe an environment as possible, our in-person classes will take place outdoors on our rooftop deck, weather permitting. Only 20 people maximum will be allowed in the studio during class (15 students, the Teaching Artist, staff support, and caregivers), and all participants will be socially distanced. If any classes must take place in our studio, all individuals must wear a mask or face covering, unless medically unable to do so.
