This program was funded in part by a grant from Corewell Health’s Healthier Communities.

Learn how to play this quirky instrument around a circle of friends. Club members chat about music and life; breaking down popular songs chord by chord and playing along as a group. No previous ukulele experience is necessary. Ukuleles will be provided for students during class.

Join ACT's drum troupe and learn about percussion, dynamics, and using music as a tool to connect! We have two (2) sections of ACTion Drummers: Treble 5 Drummers (5-5:45pm) and Bass 6 Drummers (6-6:45pm).
Our Bass 6 section of ACTion Drummers (6-6:45pm) started because of how popular our drumming and music classes have grown to be. This class is often a bit smaller, offering the same rhythmic fun in a lower sensory setting.

Both groups are open to all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced. No previous drumming experience is required to be an ACTion Drummer.

Presenting Art
Tuesdays (5:15 - 6:15 PM)
Submitting artwork or getting feedback on your piece can feel daunting - but it's also a great way to learn and share your work! In this class, students will learn about the process of submitting artwork into shows, including creating a large-scale collaborative art piece that ACT will enter for the class into Artprize this fall. Students will also practice presenting their individual artwork and giving positive feedback about others' pieces. The showcase will be an art show, where students select which piece they want to submit to the class show, and students can present their work to guest artists.

In this visual art class, projects will focus on nature as a subject for art, inspiration, and discussion. Students will have the opportunity to interact with and grow a few plants on our rooftop garden to deepen their learning. Explore the wonder of nature as you create!

Mindful Moments
Thursdays (12:00 - 1:00 PM)

Mindfulness is a practice of noticing your senses, thoughts, feelings, body, and surroundings to be grounded in the present. This practice can lower stress, improve focus, and support overall health. This summer we will be taking Mindful Moments on Thursdays from 12-1pm. Come join us for art, movement, and time in nature! Sign up for every Thursday class or just the ones that fit your schedule.
*Note*: Not every class date meets at ACT; those happening off-site are indicated in the activity description and students are still responsible for their own transportation to/from off-site locations.
PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for each class you will attend or you must pre-register for the entire series of Mindful Moments.
