About Health & Healing Programs 


Open to residents in designated units of Spectrum Health Neurological Rehabilitation and American House Jenison, as well as participants in GVSU's Campus Links program. Visiting friends and family members are also encouraged to participate.


Relaxed, welcoming environment encourages participation, with no previous art experience necessary.


Lessons are crafted to align with the health needs of the participants.

Professionally Taught

All Health and Healing classes are taught by professional Teaching Artists.

Current Programs

Patients at Spectrum Health hospital receiving neurological rehabilitation services participate in weekly music workshops led by ACT Teaching Artists.

Grand Valley State University’s Campus Links program supports college students with autism. ACT brings monthly workshops in rotating art forms for students.

ACT provides a variety of visual art workshops every other month for senior residents at American House Jenison.
