Artists Creating Together is overseen by a diverse group of community members that form our Board of Directors. ACT strives to bring together members that are part of the arts, cultural, disability, and leadership communities. Casey is a tax manager within Crowe Horwath’s Federal tax compliance and consulting services group. His experience includes working with clients primarily serving pass-through entity structures (S-Corp/Partnership) in the manufacturing and distribution industry vertical.
Mike Azzi is an attorney at Warner Norcross & Judd LLP, focusing on commercial litigation. Mike received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign where he also received his J.D.
Carissa is a cosmetologist and salon coach at Jeffrey Richard Salon where she has been since 2006. She has been an ACT volunteer since 2001 where her passion for helping people through art has allowed her to connect and contribute to the greater Grand Rapids community.
A graduate of Kendall College of Art & Design, Tom has spent his career in and around the creative scene in Grand Rapids. In 2005, he started AUXILIARY, a marketing communication firm now serving a diverse mix of clients ranging from household names to start-ups. Over the last couple of years, the AUXILIARY team has committed its resources to ACT, leading to Tom joining the board in 2017.
Ty Cook is the Operations and Finance Manager at Stevens Advertising a 100+ year old marketing firm in Grand Rapids. Ty received his Bachelor’s in Accountancy and MBA from Western Michigan University. Ty is excited to be a part of the ACT board to combine his passion for the arts with his desire to support our community.
Kelly is the Finance Director at ADAC Automotive, a leading global manufacturer of automotive parts. Kelly received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Valparaiso University and has spent her career in private industry accounting and finance. She is excited to be a part of ACT and to be of service to the organization.
Mary is an Interior Designer with over 30 years of experience in Commercial & Residential projects. She started as a division manager for an architectural firm leading 12 interior designers. Having her own company allows her to partner with many architects on a range of projects, as well as the flexibility to volunteer & serve in the community. Being with ACT has allowed her to share her talents for upgrades to the studio, connecting with the community, & raising awareness for those they serve.
Molly has been a supporter of ACT for 10+ years and is honored to serve as a member of the Board of Directors. Molly has 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She had a long career at Priority Health and became the Director of Sales. More recently, she has devoted her time to volunteer work at her children’s schools, Kids Food Basket, MomBloom, Grace’s Table and others. Molly and her husband Shannon enjoy spending time with their two teenagers and two Goldendoodles.
Pam is the manager of Organizational Development at Spectrum Health, an integrated health system based in Grand Rapids. She received a BA in Business Administration and Psychology from Hope College and uses her understanding of behavior to impact performance in the workplace. Pam was introduced to ACT through Leadership West Michigan and joined the Board in early 2014. She is passionate about ACT’s vision of empowering people with disabilities, specifically those on the Autism Spectrum.
Derrick Hollowell was raised surrounded by inspiration through art & sports. Despite medical challenges, he graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts & pursued art, music & community building. Today, he operates a community art gallery & continues to reach out to the community through youth mentoring. He loves to explore mediums & blends his interest in hip-hop music with visual interpretation & hopes to continue influencing young people through that.
Rachel Hyde is the Creative Director of Hyde Creative, founded 2010. There she seeks to cultivate empathy in ways that shift brand engagement into more meaningful & holistic expression. Her work extends beyond graphic design to pursue good communication that makes a strategic difference in organizations—by understanding relationships, advancing brands, expanding markets, and growing possibilities.
Steve is a Vice President at 42 North Partners LLC in Grand Rapids. 42 North Partners is a single family office focused on alternative asset investing as well as entrepreneurial & community initiatives. Steve’s prior experience includes 7 years in public accounting with the most recent responsibilities as a Manager of Assurance Services with Ernst & Young. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Michigan, received an MBA from the University of Michigan & BS in Accounting & Marketing from Marquette.
Tammy Karas has worked in the financial industry for more than 14 years. As Branch Officer of United Bank's Downtown Grand Rapids location, Tammy experiences firsthand the thriving art and cultural scene of West Michigan. She pairs her banking acumen with her passion for the arts to serve her community.
Winsome is the CDO & Founder of Pack Elephant, a corporate gifting service that connects artists and creative entrepreneurs with high volume buyers in their home communities. Passionate about empowering underrepresented creative talent, she provides access to sustainable business. Originally from the East Coast, she earned her BA in Visual Studies from UPenn and her MBA from NYU Stem.
Rhonda Lubberts is Associate Vice President for Institutional Marketing at GVSU and holds a bachelor's in English and a master's in philanthropy and nonprofit leadership. She has volunteered and served on boards and committees of many organizations with social and environmental justice missions
Spencer Olson works for Berends Hendricks Stuit Insurance Agency as a health & benefits consultant. After graduating from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s in Finance, Spencer spent four years working at MetLife, living in both Minneapolis and Chicago. He is very passionate about giving back to the community and he is excited to work with ACT.
A graduate of Calvin College with Bachelor’s degrees in German and Business, Emily is a Risk Consultant with Aon Risk Solutions, a global firm based in London. Working out of Aon’s Grand Rapids office, Emily is a licensed insurance broker assisting clients with project management and contract review. Emily has been volunteering with ACT since 2008 and joined the board in 2015.
