In a partnership with schools and teachers throughout West Michigan, ACT brings the wonder of art and creativity to thousands of students.
Register for a Residency, Workshop or Festival Week
You may opt to apply for one or all of these programs. To apply you MUST attend one of the mandatory orientation meetings listed below.

Attendance at one of these meetings is required each year, regardless of whether or not you have attended an orientation in past years. At this orientation, you will learn more about each of these programs, and be given applications to apply. You do need to sign up for the Zoom meetings, but for the face-to-face meetings, no need to sign up -- just show up!

Email info@artistscreatingtogether.org to sign up for ZOOM meetings
and you will receive a link to join the meeting.
Face-to-face meetings are all drop in style within the hour,
however we do try to get started right away with a brief overview of the program
and what to expect/how to apply, so try to arrive at the beginning of the meeting if you can.

The ACT Studio is currently closed to the general public and all programs have adapted to virtual or small group models due to COVID precautions. For more info, click here.

TIMELINE
January 25-29:
Attend an orientation meeting and receive a
Residency, Workshop and/or Festival Week application

February 12:
Submit your Residency, Workshop and/or Festival Week application
by Friday February 12

February 15-26:
ACT reviews Residency, Workshop and Festival Week applications
​
March:
ACT grants Residency, Workshop and Festival Week applications. You will receive an email response letter from ACT about your application(s). If your application(s) are accepted, you are provided with information about setting up your Residency, Workshop and/or participating in virtual Festival Week
​
May:
Your classroom participates in virtual Festival Week May 3-6, 2021.
Your Residency and/or Workshop is completed by May 31, 2021

About Youth Programs
Inclusive
Open to children in early childhood programs, K-12, and in transition programs.
Classroom-Friendly
Offered to special education classrooms, inclusion programs, and/or classrooms looking for an inclusion opportunity.
Various Locations
Offered at the ACT Studio or on location, depending on the program.
Professionally Taught
All youth programs are taught by professional
Teaching Artists.

Private Guitar Lessons
45-minute
sessions
An ACT teaching artist will meet you at your home or at the ACT studio as you hone in on your own personal guitar skills. Sessions are 45 minutes and are scheduled to fit your needs. Students must have their own guitar.
Cost:
$140 for 4 lessons
$210 for 6 lessons
​ $280 for 8 lessons
​ $350 for 10 lessons

Open Studio
2nd Wednesday of the month

6:00 - 7:30 PM
Each session will have crafts planned, but all participants are free to create whatever their artist heart desires! Participants are welcome to bring friends of any ability! Feel free to visit our Open Studios page to learn more!
Cost: $10 per session (caregivers and guardians are free)

AccessGR Membership
Membership runs
July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020
AccessGR makes the arts more accessible to all. Members get access to free tickets to local participating arts and cultural venues and special events. You must be registered in an ACT class to become an AccessGR member.

ACT Open House

We are opening the doors to the ACT studio and welcoming one and all to join us for interactive arts, music, and more! Whether you are new to ACT or have been with us for years, we invite you, your family, and friends to drop in anytime between 4 and 7 PM!

Collage
March 8
1:00 - 2:00 PM
Collage is an annual event that connects art agencies to create a unique, collaborative performance! This year will feature performances from ACT, CARE Ballet, GR Ballet School, Girls Choral Academy and Ebony Road Players, all under the theme "Seasons." All are welcome at this free, family friendly performance!
